Language is all about people. Let’s learn to distinguish boys / girls, men / women.
女 人 neoi5 jan2 Women a.k.a adult human female
男 人 naam4 jan2 Men a.k.a. adult human male
女 仔 neoi5 zai2 Younger female (usually under 30)
Uh yes. Do it slow. I ran out of gags.
男 仔 naam4 zai2 Younger male (usually under 30)
Boys, being slow:
佢 係 男 仔 keoi5 hai6 naam4 zai2 He is a boy. ("a" was implied instead of literal)
Pratice (no slow version this time):
你 係 女 仔 nei5 hai6 neoi5 zai2 You are a girl. (again, "a" was implied)
Btw, remember? “你” is singular ONLY. (Revisit pronouns if you’ve forgotten!)
佢 哋 係 男 人 keoi5 dei6 hai6 naam4 jan4 They are men.
女人, 男人, 女仔, 男仔 are the 4 basic words that refers to the gender and general age of people.
